Robert G. Perlmuter MD, FACPDr. Perlmuter became the founding physician of Primary
Care Medical Associates in 1988. He received his B.S. from the
University of Michigan, and graduated from Case Western Reserve
University Medical School in Cleveland Ohio. He completed his residency
in Internal Medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of
Medicine, specializing in Primary Care. Dr. Perlmuter is Section Chief
of Medicine at St. Joseph Hospital, and teaches medical students and
residents from Northwestern University and University of Illinois. Dr.
Perlmuter has a strong interest in preventative medicine and healthy
lifestyles. He believes the key to optimal health lies in the concept
of having balance in one's life. He is married to Karen, our office
manager, and has 2 daughters. In his free time Dr. Perlmuter enjoys
tennis, golf, working out, travel, theatre, and reading. He is blessed
with a high energy level!
Nancy A. Zamora MD Dr. Zamora joined PCMA in 1993. She graduated from the
University of Illinois Medical School and completed her residency in
Internal Medicine at Mercy Hospital. She supervises resident physicians
on a weekly basis at the Laboure Clinic and has done so for the past 20
years. In addition to being a physician, wife and mother, she recently
completed her first sprint triathlon in Arizona in celebration of her
50th birthday. She exercises regularly and practices healthy living,
although she admits to a weakness for chocolate!
Sheila Bhagavan, MD
Dr. Bhagavan joined PCMA in 1999. She received both her
undergraduate and graduate degrees from Indiana University. She
completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Northwestern University
Feinberg School of Medicine. In her final year at Northwestern she was
Chief Medical Resident. Dr. Bhagavan takes a proactive approach to
medicine and focuses on primary care and prevention. She lives in
Chicago and has two children. She is a voracious reader,
loves to spend time with her family, works out regularly, and is
intrigued with traveling and trying cuisine from different cultures.
Nooshin Cohanim, MDDr. Cohanim joined PCMA in 2005. She received her
undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Illinois, and
completed her residency in Internal Medicine there as well. She
believes in practicing comprehensive care with an emphasis on
preventative health. She treats a broad range of issues ranging from
anxiety to diabetes and asthma. Dr. Cohanim resides in Chicago with her
husband and two highly energetic young daughters.
Erika Flores, MD
Dr. Flores joined our medical staff in 2011.
She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at St. Joseph Hospital
in Chicago. In her final year at St. Joseph Hospital she was Chief
Medical Resident. She has a strong interest in teaching, so she will
continue to teach and supervise medical residents in clinic. In the six years she has lived in Chicago she has grown fond of running on the
lakefront, theatre, dining out, and of course, the Cubs.
Erin M. Davis, MD
Dr. Davis is the newest addition to PCMA. She received her undergraduate degree from Temple University, and her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Davis has a particular interest in weight management, preventive care and sports medicine. She finds teaching very rewarding and plans to start teaching medical students from Northwestern University. She enjoys running, scuba diving and painting!
